California Active Duty Resources:

Military One Source:  A free service provided by the Department of Defense (DoD) that supports military members and their families with a broad range of services.

The Soldier’s Project:  A group of licensed mental health professionals who offer free psychological treatment to military service members (active duty, National Guard, Reserves and veterans) and their loved ones who have served or who expect to serve in the conflicts in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The USO:  makes sure your help goes to those who need it the most: troops serving in combat, their families, our wounded warriors and their families, and families of the fallen.

California Military Family Resources:

CA Department of Education:  Information for parents, counselors, educators & administrators about military children in our classrooms.

CA National Guard Family Assistance program:  A resource to Guard and other Military families – especially those involved in current deployments.

California Veteran Resources:

CA Veteran Affairs:  Includes information about the Cal-Vet Loan program, the Veterans Homes, the Veterans Memorial, and other benefits and support for the state’s veteranswww.­calvet.­ca.­gov

CA VA Hospitals:

Coming Home™ Project:  A non-profit organization devoted to providing expert, compassionate care, support, education, and stress management tools for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, service members, their families, and their service providers.

El Dorado County Veteran Affairs Office:  established by the Board of Supervisors of El Dorado County to assist veterans, their dependents, and survivors in obtaining entitlements from federal, state, and local agencies administering veterans programs. It is not affiliated with the Federal Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).  The state of California provides several veteran benefits. This section offers a brief description of each of the benefits.
