Herve Leconte

Interim Executive Director
Chairman of the Board since 2013
Proud Father of OEF Army Veteran
Global Sales Manager/Software

Hervé was born in Normandy and raised in Paris, France. He became a proud American in 2000. His French mother was liberated on D-Day by Americans/Allies – the farm she was raised on in Normandy had been commandeered as a German command post. His French father recounted many stories from the German Occupation of France. Hervé has become an avid WWII buff (particularly the European campaign) and collector of memorabilia of D-Day found in Normandy. He has been actively involved with the MFSG as a member since 2009, while his son was deployed in Afghanistan for 12 months. He understands the special challenges faced by today’s military families from his own personal experience and is passionate about improving the lives of military families & veterans in his local community and beyond.

Julie Leconte
Former Executive Director 2014-2019
Member since 2009

Julie is a 3rd generation California native married to a Frenchman and together they have 4 grown children. Many of her family relations have served in the US military, but most were quiet about their experiences. It wasn’t until her own son joined the Army in 2005 that she understood the sacrifices, pride, fear & emotional chaos involved with being a military family. It was the isolation part that struck her the most since most civilians do not understand what it is all about. It was a relief to discover the Military Family Support Group with her husband in 2009 (when their son was deployed in Afghanistan) and realize that here was a group of people who understood…who ‘got it’! She has been an active member ever since. Her son is now a veteran. In 2014 she took on the role as Facilitator of the organization with the goal of making El Dorado County military families feel valued & understood.

Tammy Garza

Treasurer 2017 – 2019

Tammy is a mother of 3 beautiful children, one of whom is married to a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She and her husband, Joe raised their 3 children in Northern California and have resided in El Dorado County for the last 15 years. Growing up, Tammy was surrounded by Veterans, having each of her Uncles and her Grandfather all serving our country.  She has seen first hand the difficulties and effects that come along with the experiences that serving in the Military and War can have on a person.

As Treasurer, she brings many years of experience and expertise. Having been a part of the Accounting world since the mid 80’s, Tammy has seen it all. Her experience began when she took her first accounting class to learn the basics. Her experience includes helping her husband with his plumbing contracting business, and grew over the next 30 years to include many accounting and tax experiences including owning her own practice. She is now a REALTOR® with Lyon Real Estate and is always looking for the best way to assist the community that she loves so much, including participating in the U.S. Military On The Move program to allow U.S. Military members and Veterans to benefit from a special rebate when buying or selling their home with her.

When she is not working, she loves to be outdoors…running, biking and hiking. She also loves spending time traveling and with her loved ones. She is a self-proclaimed lover of numbers, and is honored to be serving as Treasurer.
